How to Plan Colors and Materials for a Custom Bag Collection
Build a clearer custom bag brief by comparing available colors, fabrics, linings, and logo options across current models.

Start with a collection brief, not a single color
Write down the role of each bag, the colors that should work together, and the material feel you want buyers to see. A daily crossbody, a commuter backpack, and a structured tote may need different fabrics even when they share a color family. Set the main colors first, then note where a contrast panel, lining, or logo color is allowed to change.
Compare the current color options
The existing models offer several starting palettes. MG5001 is listed in black, khaki grey, olive green, and purple. MG5003 is listed in black, light beige, warm white, and olive green. MG8005 is listed in warm white, black, olive, and stock colors, while the structured zip-top tote is listed in pink, beige, and black. Use these options to discuss a range, then confirm whether a custom color is available for the selected material.
Pair the color request with the material
Color approval is easier when the fabric is named at the same time. MG5001 uses 280T water-repellent nylon with a 200D polyester lining. MG8003 uses a canvas outer with a contrasting panel, and the structured zip-top tote uses water-resistant woven fabric with a soft lining. These constructions will present color differently, so keep the material, lining, and color request together in the brief.
Leave room for logo and panel decisions
The logo method is part of the color plan. Current product specifications list printing, embroidery, patch, or label options subject to the artwork and fabric. If the design uses a contrasting panel, place the logo after the panel layout is confirmed. State the required logo colors and check them against the actual outer fabric, lining, and any custom color request.
Approve the collection from physical samples
Ask to review the selected colors and materials on physical samples before production. Check the outer fabric, lining, panel contrast, logo position, and strap or handle details in the same record. The quotation and approved sample confirm the final construction, while the product page provides the starting model. Keep the approved photos and written color references together so every bag in the collection is checked against the same brief.
